Great essay on the state of politics in the institution of higher learning. Universities should stick to presenting information, offering opportunities to learn, to expand horizons, letting the students formulate their own opinion. From your writing this is sorely missing. I would hope that someday those whom you have written of will think for themselves, but that is a slim hope. What you are experiencing is the inability or unwillingness of people to think for themselves. It is far easier to be taken in by slogans, promises and charm than to research what the policies are.
