Some random thoughts as I read the news and other blogs:

“The consensus is this, that we have to do whatever it takes to get this economy moving again, that we’re going to have to spend money now to stimulate the economy.” Barack Obama, Emperor – elect

Remember back in July when Michelle Obama, Empress – elect, said of the Bush stimulus package:

“You’re getting $600. What can you do with that? Not to be ungrateful or anything. But maybe it pays down a bill, but it doesn’t pay down every bill every month.

“Barack’s approach is that the short-term quick fix kinda stuff sounds good. And it may even feel good that first month when you get that check. And then you go out and you buy a pair of earrings.” Michelle Obama

How much is Emperor – elect Obama going…

to give us? Hope its more than a pair of the empress’ earrings.

Where is it going to come from? If spending money we don’t have helps, then why isn’t the plan to just have all Americans spend more money they don’t have?

“The adoption of a robust recovery package should be the top priority of the upcoming lame duck session. That is why I intend to seek consent on a bill to create jobs, prevent large tax increases and cuts in state services, strengthen our nation’s manufacturing sector, and assist those struggling to find a job.” Harry Reid (Socialist – Nev)

Really? Preventing large tax increases and cutting state services is what is needed to get an economy moving again? If preventing tax increases works during a bad eceonomy, does it stop working during a good economy? And no offense Harry, but only in a socialist society does government “create” jobs. The private sector is the only sector that can create jobs.

“The challenges before us are formidable. Some can be solved immediately; others will take more time. To solve all of them, we must govern from the middle — reaching across the aisle to work in a bipartisan way and build consensus. We will work together with greatest civility.” Nancy Pelosi (Socialist – CA)

I almost spit milk out of my nose on this one. “The greatest civility”? Is she serious? If it was anyone other than Pelosi, I might think there was a chance. But now…. whats that about a snowball and hell?

“Detroit is in nose dive, no doubt about that….. Democrats clearly want something big and something soon for the Big Three. We agree that the automakers can’t go on much longer burning cash and piling up an Everest of debt. They’re close to the breaking point….. Filing for Chapter 11 protection under bankruptcy law is the normal way a company stays in business when facing an unmanageable financial situation. It keeps creditors at bay while the company reorganizes under court supervision and settles its debts…. Bankruptcy protection also frees companies from union contracts. Could this be why it seems to have been taken off the table as an option, at least among Democrats? Investors Business Daily

Ahhhhhh! Now we get to the real reason the socialists don’t want the Big 3 to go under. The unions. If Ford, GM and Chrysler file Chapter 11, union contracts are no longer enforceable.

Unions are a blight on our country. They serve no productive, useful purpose any more. My father was a union electrician. He told me that unions were no longer needed and they had lost their usefulness. At one point in time unions were a necessary evil, but times have changed. We no longer have a use for a system like this to stand up for workers rights. And they have basically destroyed the American car industry, not to mention a lot of other industries and sectors – think education.

So the news has been fast and furious over the last few days, with talk of bailout and deficit spending and bipartisanship. Do you really believe it? Do you really think they’re telling the truth or care about America? These are the people that are going to be running the country. Do you feel good about that? Mull it over.
